Mission
Our mission at Church of the Cross is to help people of all ages to be Loving God, Connecting with others
and Serving in Jesus' name.
LOVING GOD: Jesus said the most important thing in life is to "love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, strength and mind." (Luke 10:27) We seek to do this through:
- a personal commitment to Christ as Savior and Lord (heart)
- regular involvement in corporate worship and personal devotions (soul)
- a 24/7 faith (strength)
- the development of a Biblical worldview (mind)
CONNECTING WITH OTHERS: The second most important thing, according to Jesus, is to "love your neighbor as yourself." (Luke 10:27) We encourage this in three areas:
- healthy and growing relationships at home
- meaningful and accountable relationships with a few other believers
- intentional and authentic relationships with those around us who do not know Christ
SERVING IN JESUS’ NAME: Since Jesus "did not come to be served, but to serve," (Matthew 20:28), then surely our calling is no different. We want each person to experience the joy of serving God:
- within the church
- and beyond the church
- according to their God-given abilities, passions, experiences, resources, and personality
