Senior Health Workshop - Tuesday, March 16 beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the COTC Gym. Males and females age 50 and over are encouraged to participate in this Healthy Steps Program offered by Erie Center on Health and Aging. One of your greatest fears may be the fear of falling. The Healthy Steps for Older Adults Program is a falls risk reduction program developed by the Pennsylvania Department of Aging--because falls are the leading cause of injury-related hospital stays for older adults and are often a precursor to a nursing home. The goal of this program is to raise awareness of the proactive steps people can take to reduce their risk of falls and keep them on their feet and out of hospitals and nursing homes. This program will be conducted as a one-day workshop with an educational session in the morning, a break for a catered lunch, and an activity session in the afternoon. The workshop is designed to help older adults make their homes safer, manage their medicines, and learn how to improve their strength and balance. Healthy Steps also offers many other resources to help older adults prevent falls. Golden Living Centers of Erie, Crawford and Warren Counties is a key sponsor of the Healthy Steps Program and will assist in conducting the workshop and providing the luncheon. Invite friends, family members and neighbors! Don't miss out on this fun, free, workshop. Call the church office at 835-5901 by March 8th to register.

Ladies, mark your calendars for "Ladies Night Out at the Movies" on Friday, March 26 at 6:30 in the Worship Area. The movie, "Fireproof" will be shown. Snacks will be provided--please bring your own beverage. There will be a time of fellowship before the movie and discussion afterward. Hope you can come and bring a friend or two! Please call the church office at 835-5901 to make reservations so that we can plan properly for the refreshments.

Looking for volunteers to help with the church library inventory beween the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, weeks of April 12 and April 19. Whether you can spare two hours or two days, your help will be appreciated. Please call Ellen Lobb at 860-7985.

Church Library Update. When was the last time you took a look on the shelves of the church library? Are you aware that use of the library is available to the COTC congregation? Friends/Members, there is a wealth of knowledge and inspiration, right here in the library, just waiting to be picked up, checked out and read,. Avail yourself of the writings of famous and well-respected Christian authors and speakers, including Dr. James Dobson, Billy Graham, C.S. Lewis, Dr. Norman Vincent Peale, Gary Smalley, and Charles Swindoll, to name a few. You’ll find daily devotionals, fiction, poetry & prose, support books on parenting, marriage, grief, etc., too many categories to mention. There is even a section of children’s books. We also have varied videotapes and dvds suitable for several different age groups. So, stop in the library, choose your materials, print your name on the sign-out card(s) and leave the cards in the spot provided on the cart against the wall. Upkeep and improvements to our library make it a “work-in-progress”. Anyone who would like to spend some time volunteering in the library for special projects, including inventory, can contact Ellen Lobb (860-7985). In the meantime, check out what our library has for check-out!
